A new cultural hub is now open in South Yardley and Mercurial Arts and Arts In The Yard are inviting individuals, community groups and arts organisations to programme and deliver regular activities for local residents. Hobmoor Community Centre will be open every weekday evening during term time from 5pm-10pm.

 

The hub will provide a space that is engaging and enriching for all local people, where everyone in the community is welcome. The hub will support local people and Birmingham based workshop leaders to deliver a range of activities that are fun, relevant, educational and artistic.

Sessions could include: music, dance, drama, education, art, crafts, pottery, painting, keep fit, self defence, clothes making, how to sessions, evening classes and community projects.

  • Do you have an idea but need some support to make it happen?
  • Do you have skills and talents you want to share with others?

 

We want to hear from you!

We have a variety of great spaces available, plus a programme of support for a number new groups. A week of free taster sessions is being developed and you could be part of the team that delivers this programme. ‘Hobmoor Community Centre Launch Week’ will take place Monday 2nd to Friday 6th November 2015, every evening from 5pm-10pm.

 

Mercurial Arts Package of Support Includes:

  • Payment to deliver your first ‘Free Taster’ Session
  • Start up training and one to one sessions on developing your creative business in partnerships with Creative Enterprise
  • A transition bursary to help you grow your class and develop sustainability
  • A positive and vibrant place to work

 

 

We can only support a limited number of artists, selection will be made via the Expression of Interest Form.

 

We need you to

  • be registered as self employed and able to supply a UTR
  • hold or be willing to under go an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • have Public Liability Insurance
